On March 4, 2023, the Annual Rolling Wheels Roller Skate Marathon took place on Al Hudayriyat Island in Abu Dhabi, organized by Rolling Wheels Company with support from the General Authority of Sports, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Khalifa Fund, and Al Forsan International Sports Resort, and sponsored by Al Bustan Medical Center (gold) and Slider Company (silver).

The event featured people of determination and offered motivational prizes, reflecting the company’s mission and the UAE leadership’s vision to promote sports for all. Since its founding in 2017, Rolling Wheels had trained over 1,500 participants, cementing its role in developing roller skating locally.

Founders Adhra and Israa Al-Sayegh noted that the marathon responded to growing demand and helped popularize roller skating in the UAE. Training camps were held beforehand to prepare participants, furthering the sisters’ vision of establishing an official local entity for the sport.

In December 2022, the Abu Dhabi International Roller Skate Marathon was organized by the Roller Skate Club in Abu Dhabi, marking the first-ever international marathon of this sport in the country. The event hosted both local and international champions, highlighting the club’s leading role in training and qualifying athletes in roller skating.

Adhra Al-Sayegh, founder and chairperson of the club, emphasized that roller skating is popular across all age groups and contributes to the development of physical and mental balance. She also noted the club’s significant progress in achieving its goals, as it had attracted over a thousand trainees since its establishment in 2019.
